Twitter dataset - Reality TV

The Reality TV datasets include user interactions from X (formerly Twitter) centered around popular reality television shows in Italy, Brazil, and the Netherlands. Users were identified through targeted hashtag searches for programs such as Grande Fratello VIP and X Factor (Italy), Big Brother Brasil and X Factor Brazil (Brazil), and Holland’s Got Talent and Ik Vertrek (Netherlands). Seed users were manually selected and their tweet histories collected using a snowball sampling approach between January 21 and January 29, 2023. After preprocessing, the datasets comprise 160 egos for Italy, 154 for Brazil, and 230 for the Netherlands, with tens of thousands of ego-alter relationships and hundreds of thousands of interactions per dataset. These datasets are well-suited for analyzing ego network structures and sentiment dynamics in culturally distinct yet thematically similar online communities.
